FORMIA, the international guest amenity and hospitality specialist, today announces that it supplies Cathay Pacific with a new on-board amenity kit featuring the designer bag brand Zixag, with Hong Kong graphic designer Danny Yung.
Cathay Pacific has been working with FORMIA since 2015 to curate the perfect amenity kits for their First class and Business class passengers. This is the first bag FORMIA is supplying for their Premium Economy class. A new cooperation between Zixag, FORMIA and Cathay Pacific shows a move that reflects the airline’s constant drive to further improve customer service and enhance passengers’ journey experience in different ways.
The release of this bag collection offers a more unique experience when receiving amenity kits because of the exclusive artwork on the outside and inside lining of the bag. They showcase Danny Yung’s illustrations, a very well-known graphic artist from the same hometown of Cathay Pacific and headquarters of FORMIA – Hong Kong. The artworks include the character Tian Tian Xiang Shang, as well as his Asian inspired oil painted fishes, bamboo stalks and leaves. Tian Tian is featured more in the second cycle, where he is commonly known to be looking up and pointing at a thought or speech bubble, there will be an airplane added into his ‘message’ in the sky. This collectable amenity bag will be released in 16 different designs in a span of 2 years, with 2 new bags every 3 months.
The design of this bag was kept as a simple pouch to let the artwork speak for itself. The simplicity of the shape allows for a variety of uses even after the flight. The colors being used are all natural earth tones; beginning with beige and dark brown for the first cycle, followed by fern and grey in the second quarter of 2017. The inside of the bag is lined with a coated canvas material, making the oil paintings seem as if they were really painted on the bag. The PVC zip pull in matching colors with the respective bag is utilized to give the bag a more natural look. Danny aims to redefine “Comic” and explore the boundary between language and images and believes Tian Tian figure could be a bridge for initiating more creativity.
